As I mentioned yesterday, I came late to NaNoWriMo (boy, that’s fun to type), so I had some catching up to do. I’m still behind, but I’m making steady progress. 4.something thousand in 2 days thus far.
This second day didn’t quite come as easily, but that’s to be expected. At any rate, I’m getting some words on the page, I’ve got a title: The House of Keys, and I’m getting some new ideas for plot progression, so it appears to be working so far.
I also had a look at the 30 Covers, 30 Days scheme, which is fairly brilliant, to be fair. I nominated my story, of course, I’d be stupid not to. Can’t say with any confidence that I’ll get selected, but you have to be in it to win it.
Total word count so far is 4755, so yes, still a little ways behind. I’m a little jealous of these people already sitting on 20/30k, but I guess they’ve been plotting or planning for some time.
Again, if anyone taking part this year reads this post and wants to gain a free writing buddy; you can find me @KPLanyon. There’s also a synopsis and an excerpt. I’m happy to read anything, to bounce ideas around, or just offer some general encouragement.
